According to Buddhism, there are six realms of existence: Devas (Gods), Asura (Demi-gods), Manusya (Humans), Tiryagyoni (Animals), Preta (Ghosts), and Naraka (Hell). Gods are the highest. They live in a happy and peaceful place called heaven, where there is no suffering, sadness, or negative emotions. To be gods in the afterlife, people must have a loving heart, treat nice to others, share things, and do good deeds without thinking about receiving them back. In contrast, hell is the most awful place to be reborn. People doing evil and bad things, such as committing a crime, being ungrateful, and having inappropriate thoughts, would be punished and suffer in hell in the afterlife. Depending on each person’s karma, they will be reborn into one of the six realms.
